Creating the Usuniversum: just an ordinary day at the NewisBrothers’ studio

Since childhood, drawing has been my first and most important passion. I created comics and later painted with both oil and acrylics.
As a teenager, I began playing drums and later guitar, performing in several bands—some together with my brother. I wrote music and lyrics and studied recording techniques.
After completing Finland’s mandatory military service, I applied to study graphic design, but life drew me into the professional world. Today, I work at Finland’s leading logistics company, managing contracts with both domestic and international partners.
History is my passion, and I dare say I have studied it extensively through years of reading.
Jukka Nevalainen
I have worked for a long time as an advertising photographer in a major agency, after completing my military service. A professional in digital image editing. I'm also familiar with the printing industry, from working with film to modern computer software.
I produce factual, lyrical, and prose texts. I have performed as a singer and lead guitarist in many rock bands, including ones with my brother.
I used to train in several martial arts, though nowadays my mastery is limited to recalling what they were called. From those times, however, the habit of going to the gym has remained, and I still pursue it quite diligently.
I still work with images—now in the field of Finland’s National Security, as the dramatic saying goes.
