On the spotless control panels of superheroes, no stains ever linger. Their costumes gleam with impossible purity. In their ultra-secret bases, drains never clog, taps never drip. Everything works, everything shines—and yet you’ve never seen a caped crusader scrubbing a floor. Sanitation is not a superpower.

Usuniversum brings to the forefront those who usually remain in the shadows: the maintenance crews who keep the heroes’ world running. Over decades, some of them have built powerful, international guilds. Women and men who service the gear, clean the mess, repair what’s broken—and who, when the superheroes are utterly clueless, rise to defeat the greatest evil of all.

The true designation of our superheroes is Superprotector, though hardly anyone uses it. Among the people they are known as metants—a fusion of mutant and meta-human.

Our story begins in Helsingham, a metropolis on the U.S. East Coast. Like many other cities, Helsingham’s metants are monitored by the SafirSheriff, - a high-tech device about the size of a basketball. It amplifies the powers of good metants and dampens those of the bad.

The SafirSheriff is the joint creation of the world’s brightest minds and the Aluiris, the galaxy’s leading alien shapeshifter merchant race.

Oversight of Helsingham’s metants is the responsibility of HeSU (Helsingham Superprotector Union), which belongs to the global umbrella organization USU, the Universal Superprotector Union.

The first main character of our universe is Miss Park, a laundry assistant who, despite being a member of HeSU, has no desire whatsoever to use her powers. She is perfectly content with her life as a young woman and her hobby of playing the flute—free from the burdens of superheroism.

Our other protagonist is very ordinary Mr. Rudolf  M. Laine, who, in the late hours of a damp evening, accidentally swallows a fragment of a shapeshifter alien. As a result, his DNA mutates, allowing him to absorb others’ abilities through unwashed clothing, along with fleeting traces of their thoughts.

Other key figures in the story—Tailor and Mansa —also have their own introductions on our website.

We have woven our universe into the turning points and currents of world history, offering perspectives on events that have already happened, might have happened, or how the present era relates to them—especially since our story unfolds across two timelines.

Everything we create now is set in the 1970s… …but it also exists right here, right now. By popular demand, USU and its branch HeSU have been compelled to step into the modern age. The 50-year confidentiality period for the events has just expired, and Helsingham’s charming archivist, Filemon Frankfurter, is more than eager to seize the opportunity to answer inquiries.
